Hi everyone!
A quick one from me this week, as promised, I wanted to give you all a quick update. If you read my last Finance & Investing blog How I started dividend investing you'll know I talked about how I got into investing through my studies to become an Accountant and that I'm waiting for exams results. Well, the results are in, drum roll please...
I PASSED! I'm really happy about it and it was a nice little confidence boost. You might be able to tell I'm super excited, so much so, even though I doubt anybody wants more details I'm going to tell you anyway haha! I scored 93% over the four exams earning a distinction which is the highest grade available. I'm not getting ahead of myself, this was level two of four, so there is still a long way to go and I'm sure it'll get progressively more challenging but I think its important to celebrate success and review progression once in a while.
I've already started studying for my first level three exam and I continue to enjoy the process of learning a new skill. I'm even more motivated to get this over the finish line and start a new career and challenge!
There is always doubts in my mind about changing career, I've built up a skill set and a reputation in my current profession and earn decent money so making a segue into an entirely different career is daunting. Ultimately, I don't think I was born to work for others and have limitations placed upon me by other in the standard corporate way. I firmly believe that fortune favours the brave and that's what I'm keeping in mind as the I've make one extra step closer to achieving this goal.
Have any of you made a complete career change? If so, how did it go? What were the challenges? Was it as hard/easy as you expected it to be? Would you have done anything differently? If you could do it again would you do it? If you would, what advice would you give yourself?
All these questions and thoughts are running through my head so I'd love to hear from anybody that's been through it. It would be awesome to learn about your story and experiences.
Like I said, its only going to be a quick one from me today so I'll wrap it up there! Have an awesome weekend guys.
All the best,
Andrew
