One skill I have is being able to use Excel to its full potential. I probably push it far beyond its intended use but its all part of the fun. I'm sure we've all had to use Excel at some point and at first it can be extremely daunting. I remember my first experience like it was yesterday, I applied for an administrative role at work which required passing a very basic Excel test. Luckily for me, I'm a learn-by-doing kind of guy and find it best to jump in feet first and work it out as I go and I passed the test by playing about with Excel the day before the test. Spoiler alert... I got the job and from there onwards I gained the skills and knowledge by doing. There was no form of training so everything I've learned since has been done by doing. Obviously this isn't the most efficient way to improve however some people find it extremely difficult to learn without being shown or having any explanation.
I hope this is something I can help others with. Excel has been a constant in business for years and shows no signs of going away. I'm in the process of creating some Excel templates for people to download for business and personal use, things like budget planning, habit tracking and KPI dashboards amongst others. I want to use this channel to gauge what sort of things people might want help with. I'd love people to share in the comments what they would like help whether it be with Excel, VBA, the Microsoft suite; Power Query, Power Pivot and Power Automate. Many of you may not know what you have at your fingertips with the built-in features. Power Automate can automate mundane tasks with minimal coding, Power Query can stack all files from a folder into one table without any coding, Excel has hundreds of formulas you can use you make your life easier.
